CAN YOU RECALL a specific moment in your life that gives you the greatest satisfaction because you achieved something against all the odds?
Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds, famously known to the cricket population as a test match venue and home of Yorkshire Cricket Club. Within the parameters of this popular venue, hidden away in the background sits an Indoor Cricket School, which has been a breeding space for so many famous Yorkshire cricketers including; Geoff Boycott, Darren Gough, Michael Vaughan and Joe Root.
In March 1996, Headingley played host to the North of England Indoor Cricket Competition for Further Education Colleges, located from as far as Scotland all the way down to South Yorkshire in England.
Known as East Durham College, we only just pulled together a team two days before this annual cricket event. We even had difficulties finding suitable transportation, but more so a qualified human driver who could transport our team to the venue. Those representing East Durham College, all played cricket for local clubs, including; Blackhall, Seaham Harbour and the majority from Horden. If truth be told, we struggled to find 6 players, who were capable of winning such a high profile event. We were still in need of another player to give us a squad of 7, so we drafted in a local lad, who was still at secondary school.

ON THE DATE, September 28th, 2014, me myself and I, Gary Lavery, took the final step in achieving a long term goal, which all started 5 years ago or was it 23 years ago.
At the youthful age of 15, I started helping a gentleman called George Patterson, who was my coach at Horden Cricket Club, deliver Sunday morning coaching sessions for junior players. It was then, my interest in coaching became obsessive, to the point where I wanted to become a qualified cricket coach and support the development of players.
Fast forward to 2005, the year when I became one of few cricket coaches in the North of England to achieve the England & Wales Cricket Board Level 3 Coaching Award. Over 7 long days of tuition, I worked alongside ex-professional cricketers, but also reconnected with SOMETHING I had heard about before in the business world and now in a sporting context.

DID YOU KNOW that everything we do in life, first starts with a single thought?
Little do some people know, that YOU are in full control of your thinking, every second of every day of every week and so forth.
You could easily go inside your mind right now and recall a distant memory from the past, something of which happened 15 or 20 years ago, and go back to that specific time and act as if it were real again.
How would you know if that memory is good or bad, or even right or wrong?
The human mind can only do SIX things and sometimes we do 1 or more of them at any one time. These things are; pictures, sounds, feelings, smells, tastes and self talk.
The moment you start using language inside your mind, such as; "I can't, I shouldn't, I don't" - THAT WILL BE YOUR RESULT! - And even if you did start whatever it is your thinking at the time, with that specific language you still wouldn't be 100% congruent towards your action or even perform at your ultimate best.
Maybe this kind of thinking is a result of something that happened in the past and you are now stuck with that all to familiar situation again.
What would happen if you said to yourself - "I can, I should, I do" - And completely let go of any negative emotions or limiting decisions you had about yourself from the past? - How different would your behaviour and results be in the future?
What if you thought more positively about specific areas of your life and with this kind of thinking - What could you really, REALLY, ACHIEVE in your life.
This is where NLP can provide all the answers and allow you to run your mind the way YOU want to!
